Moroccan super app ORA Technologies has expanded its Series A funding round to $10 million after securing an additional $2 million from domestic investors, marking one of the country’s largest locally financed early-stage technology investments.

The latest funding will support the company’s expansion across its food delivery and digital payments businesses as it continues to build an integrated digital platform for Moroccan consumers. The round is notable not only for its size but also because it was financed entirely by Moroccan investors, highlighting the growing role of local capital in supporting the country’s technology ecosystem.

African startups have traditionally relied on venture capital from Europe, the United States and the Gulf. ORA’s fully domestic Series A round signals increasing confidence among Moroccan investors in backing homegrown technology companies and reflects the maturation of the country’s startup ecosystem.

Founded in 2023, ORA Technologies has positioned itself as Morocco’s first super app, offering a range of digital services through a single platform. The company operates a food delivery marketplace alongside digital payment services, targeting the country’s growing demand for convenient mobile-first solutions.

The fresh capital will enable ORA to accelerate product development, expand its user base and strengthen its payments infrastructure as competition intensifies in Morocco’s digital economy. The company is also expected to invest in scaling its operations and enhancing customer experience across its services.

The investment comes amid rising momentum for Morocco’s technology sector, where an increasing number of startups are attracting institutional and private investment. While international funding continues to play an important role across Africa, ORA’s latest raise demonstrates that domestic investors are becoming more willing to finance high-growth technology ventures at scale.

With its Series A round now reaching $10 million, ORA Technologies is well positioned to strengthen its presence in Morocco’s digital services market while showcasing the potential of locally backed innovation to drive the country’s digital economy.
