Technology provider Liquid Technologies has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Tanzania’s digital transformation agenda following high-level discussions with government officials on expanding the country’s digital infrastructure and connectivity.
The engagement focused on identifying opportunities for public-private collaboration as Tanzania advances its long-term strategy to modernise government services, strengthen digital infrastructure and increase access to technology across the country. The talks come amid the implementation of the country’s Digital Economy Strategic Framework 2024–2034, which prioritises inclusive connectivity, cybersecurity and digital innovation.
During the discussions, both sides underscored the importance of reliable digital infrastructure in accelerating economic growth, improving public service delivery and creating new opportunities for businesses and citizens. Expanding broadband access, particularly in underserved communities, was identified as a critical step toward narrowing the digital divide and supporting nationwide digital inclusion.
Liquid Technologies said its expertise in fibre networks, cloud computing, cybersecurity and data centre services aligns with Tanzania’s development priorities. The company noted that closer collaboration with the government could help build resilient digital systems capable of supporting the country’s growing demand for online services and secure digital platforms.
The Tanzanian government has significantly increased investment in digital infrastructure in recent years, including upgrades to the National ICT Broadband Backbone, expansion of digital identity systems and the establishment of additional data centres. These initiatives are intended to improve connectivity, encourage innovation and position Tanzania as a competitive digital economy within the region.
Officials believe partnerships with private-sector technology companies will play a vital role in achieving these ambitions. By combining government-led policy reforms with industry expertise and investment, Tanzania aims to accelerate digital adoption across sectors such as education, healthcare, finance and public administration.
As digital transformation continues to reshape economies across Africa, stakeholders say sustained collaboration between governments and technology providers will be essential to building secure, inclusive and future-ready digital ecosystems capable of supporting long-term economic development and innovation.
